Hussain Mahmood

As WLGCC's Energy & Sustainability Advisor, Hussain works with WLGCC members and partner organizations to advance clean energy and climate solutions in communities across the state of Wisconsin.

He has over eight years of experience in the nonprofit sector and on public policy projects. Hussain has been involved in various initiatives, such as increasing procurement efficiency in the public sector by researching how bonus pay and technology could enhance processes. He has also collaborated with city mayors and local governments to improve service delivery and link it to property taxes in underdeveloped neighborhoods. Recently, Hussain led a project focused on integrating sustainability into the agriculture sector. This involved introducing spatial analysis and using satellite imagery to assist agronomists in real-time tracking of crop health.

Hussain holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance and recently graduated with a master’s degree in Environmental Sustainability from Indiana University Bloomington.
